We are so lucky to have Margarita Korioth giving a workshop for us! Her innovative work has won many awards, been seen in many publications, and she has taught and lectured all over the world. She has expanded the world of quilting with paper and other mixed materials.
On Tuesday August 23rd from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. she will teach her workshop Hand Appliqué with Paper and Fabric. Margarita’s a lovely, encouraging teacher and we know you’ll be charmed by her unique approach to creating this small piece that may lead to bigger endeavors!
Give new life to magazine clippings and combine them with fabric to make beautiful and unique fiber art. First, we will design your block using paper and hand-dyed fabrics. Then you will cut, fuse, and hand-stitch the pieces in place. This is a great opportunity to learn how to stitch on paper. There will be also a demonstration on how to laminate and foil the magazine clippings. This class is open to all sewing levels, and anyone who would like to explore techniques with different materials beyond fabrics.
The cost of the workshop is $35.00 with an additional kit fee of $20.00. Be sure to sign up early as spots will go quickly!
